Before you can use an assessment, before you can hire, you have to first know what you're looking for.
The synergize! Success Process starts with identifying what you need. Here are some questions to get started:
- If the job could talk how would it describe itself?
- If the job was hiring, what kind of person would it hire?
- How does this position help you accomplish your strategic objectives?
- What specific job responsibilities are required to accomplish those objectives?
- What activities would the person in this position do to fulfill those responsibilities well? (i.e. what does s/he do when s/he gets to work in the morning and through out the day?)
- What 5 - 10 competencies are required for someone who is skilled in these areas?
- Understanding that they are all important, how would you prioritize those competencies?
- What personality traits and behavior style will help someone fit in with your team?
- What values will someone has who will feel fulfilled doing this job?
- What traits do you need from someone who will fit in with your company culture?
- We'll walk you through a systematic process to help you answer those questions. Armed with a solid understanding of what you really need you'll be able to make a decision regarding not only which assessments to use but also what to look for in the results.
